IN THE WORKSHOP: Paint – Huffy “Scout”

Painted and ready to ride.

The Shop recently came upon a vintage 1980’s era Huffy Scout 10-speed bicycle.

It was a solid find, and although the gears and brakes worked, it needed some TLC.

The bicycle was dismembered and disassembled for a complete repaint. The paint was stripped using solution and high-grit wet sandpaper until smooth bare metal was exposed. The frame was sprayed in a matte-orange finish, and all hardware was painted in a gloss white. New handlebar wraps, seat, reflectors, and water bottle holder were installed as the old parts were either missing or unusable.

The finished product is a vintage-style 10-speed cruiser with an eye catching paint job and a hardware rework.
